Jihae Hong-Park Biography
Korean American pianist Jihea Hong-Park leads a vibrant international career as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. She has performed in major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Steinway Hall, with international appearances across Europe and Asia, including broadcasts on Korea’s Orfeo TV. A passionate advocate for contemporary music, she has premiered works by notable composers and co-hosted the New York Philharmonic’s Young People’s Concerts at Lincoln Center. Ms. Hong-Park also served for 14 years on the faculty of The Juilliard School and is currently Associate Professor of Piano at Brigham Young University, where her students have garnered top prizes in national and international competitions.

In addition to her performing and teaching career, Hong-Park is an active researcher and speaker on topics such as interdisciplinary arts, Asian American studies in classical music, and socially engaged artistry. She has presented at conferences for UNESCO, MTNA, the College Music Society, and delivered the 2023 keynote at the UMTA State Conference. A dedicated teaching artist, she has led community-focused projects with the New York Philharmonic and beyond, earning recognition for her work in arts education and access. Hong-Park holds degrees from The Juilliard School and Teachers College, Columbia University, and received Juilliard’s highest honor, the William Schuman Commencement Prize.
