Dr. Jared Pierce Biography
Dr. Jared A. Pierce is Coordinator of Group Piano Studies and a member of the piano performance faculty at Brigham Young University. He holds a DMA from the University of Utah, an MM from BYU, and a BM from California State University, Stanislaus. Known for his engaging and versatile artistry, Dr. Pierce has performed widely as both a soloist and collaborative pianist, working with internationally renowned artists such as Øystein Baadsvik, Jutta Puchhammer-Sédillot, Jason Hardink, and Stephen Beus. He currently serves as accompanist for the Utah Chamber Artists and the Utah Symphony Chorus.
An award-winning performer, Dr. Pierce has earned top prizes in competitions including the Arne Oldberg Competition, SummerArts Solo Piano Competition, and Merced Symphony Concerto Competition. He is also a joint recipient of the “Grand Prix de la Ville de Tours” at the Florilège Vocal de Tours International Choir Competitions. His principal teachers include Susan Duehlmeier, Heather Conner, Irene Peery-Fox, and Jeffrey Shumway.
