Dr. Stephen Beus Biography
Dr. Stephen Beus is an acclaimed pianist and associate professor of piano at Brigham Young University. He holds degrees from Whitman College, The Juilliard School, and Stony Brook University. A Dr. Stephen Beus is an associate professor of piano at Brigham Young University and an internationally acclaimed concert pianist. He is the only pianist to win gold medals in both the Junior (1996) and Senior (2006) divisions of the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and also won first place in the 2003 MTNA National Piano Competition.

A Steinway Artist, Dr. Beus has performed worldwide and earned top prizes in the Vendome Prize in Lisbon and the American Pianists Association. He holds degrees from Whitman College, The Juilliard School, and Stony Brook University, and has recorded with Endeavor Classics, Harmonia Mundi, and Centaur Records. Originally from rural Washington, he now combines an active performing career with his passion for teaching at BYU.

Isaac Beus Biography
Isaac, Stephen's son, is an accomplished 14 year-old violinist, and a member of our very own GMS Conservatory. He studied with Debbie Moench from age 8 until age 13, and now currently studies with Eugene Watanabe. Last year, he won the prestigious Dorothy Starling Scholarship which funds his lessons and some travel expenses for competitions and performances.
