Dr. Scott Holden Biography
Scott Holden maintains a distinguished career as a versatile pianist sought after for his performances as a soloist, collaborator, teacher, adjudicator, and clinician. He has graced stages across over forty US states, Europe, and Asia, including prestigious venues such as Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall. Holden's Carnegie Hall debut in 1996, following his first prize win in the Leschetizky New York Debut Competition, was hailed for his "effortless technique and beautiful tone," marking the beginning of a critically acclaimed journey. His commitment to contemporary music has led to numerous premieres, including William Wallace’s Second Piano Concerto with Keith Lockhart and the Utah Symphony, lauded by The Salt Lake Tribune for his "virtuosic performance." Holden’s recordings on labels like NAXOS and Parma, including the 2018 album "The Unknown Galaxy," have received high praise for their musical depth and technical mastery. 
 
As a dedicated educator, Dr. Holden has served as piano professor at Brigham Young University since 2002 and directed its piano area for 14 years. His students, frequent winners in national competitions and performers with major orchestras, continue to excel at top music institutions worldwide. Beyond teaching, Holden travels extensively for adjudication and master classes, contributing significantly to the piano community both nationally and internationally.
