Dr. Michelle Kesler Biography
Dr. Michelle Kesler, Associate Professor of Cello at Brigham Young University, is celebrated internationally as both a performer and educator. With a distinguished career spanning performances in Greece, Luxembourg, New Zealand, and across the United States, Michelle has collaborated with renowned ensembles including the Beethoven Chamber Music Festival and quartets such as Orion, New Zealand String Quartet, and Takacs. She is highly regarded for her master classes at prestigious institutions worldwide, including the Boston Conservatory, University of Arizona, and DePaul University, nurturing students who excel in national and international competitions. Michelle's passion for new music is evident in her commissions and premieres, collaborating across disciplines like dance and environmental science. As an orchestral musician, she enriches orchestras in Arizona, Utah, and Hawaii and shares her expertise at summer festivals like The Vianden International Music Festival. Dedicated to music education, Michelle champions diversity through inclusive programming and lectures, contributing significantly to the field through her roles in ASTA and the College Music Society.
